Our revenue from visitors helps us develop and maintain the gardens and plant collections. It also supports our educational and research activities.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer and add a 10% donation to your admission we can claim tax back from the Government’s Gift Aid scheme. This means we get an extra 25p for every £1 you spend.

Free or discounted entry

Free or significantly discounted entry is available to Ness members, students, University of Liverpool staff, carers and, for a limited time, RHS members.

  • Students will need to bring a student ID card or proof of course enrolment. TOTUM and UNiDAYS cards are not accepted as proof of student status
  • University of Liverpool staff will need to show their staff ID card
  • Carers, please bring along your Carer ID. To qualify for our carer rate, you'll need to be aged 18 or above and providing help and support to an individual, visiting the gardens, who is in receipt of DLA (Disability Living Allowance), PIP (Personal Independence Payment) or is a current holder of an Access Card or a Blue Badge. The term should not be confused with a foster carer or care assistant. We just ask to see the relevant Access Card, Blue Badge or DLA or PIP receipt at the Welcome Desk on the day of your visit
  • RHS members, free entry applies to the card holder with an asterisk on the back of the card only, those without an asterisk will be charged admission. Free entry is unavailable on Bank holidays and event days.

We're happy to accept the BBC Gardeners World 241 Voucher on most weekdays. The entrance fee will be charged at the adult admission rate of £8.50 for two adults. The voucher will not be accepted at weekends, bank holidays or event days.

Dogs

Please note, only registered service or assistance dogs are allowed in the Visitor Centre and gardens. However you are more welcome to use our dog friendly patio next to the Botanic Kitchen.
