Discover Nature @ Ness: Winter Wonderland
Discover Nature is back with a festive twist this holiday season! Sit back with a hot drink and a mince pie while listening to two researchers from the University of Liverpool talk about reindeers and dogs who ate all the (chocolate) pies.
Tuesday 10 December 1.00-2.00pm
Ruldolph and the Christmas turkey
I am Emma, and I am one of the senior lecturers in farm animals. I am cow-mad or a mad cow depending on your opinion! I am not from a farming background, but have loved cows from my first work experience and think they are the most amazing animals. Rudolph is similar to cows - with a few adaptations - so why not come and find out more and as a cow vet I shall discuss my encounters with the Christmas turkey!
Dr Emma Fishbourne
Senior Farm Animal Lecturer
Festive Folly
‘tis the season to be jolly. But the coming Christmas festivities also bring certain risks for our pets. In this talk, we'll explore how big data can help us understand the risks of chocolate poisoning in dogs during the festive season.
Professor Alan Radford
Professor in Veterinary Health Informatics
Location: Hulme Room at Ness Gardens
Refreshments will be served before the talks start.
