The University of Liverpool Chamber Orchestra recently went on a trip to Normandy to rehearse and perform in preparation for the upcoming term. We had daily orchestra rehearsals in the morning, then a brief pause for lunch and swimming, followed by smaller chamber music groups in the afternoon and evening.
The trip was a brilliant opportunity for us to prepare for opening the lunchtime concert series on the 2nd of October and we also had the chance to play music with people from around the world. We performed one concert in the local gardens which was very well attended, until it was interrupted by a short torrential downpour. The trip manager, Shannon Kennedy, was able to establish a connection with the local music school and we hope to return next year to run some workshops with young musicians there. A fun week was had by all!
