MEFEPO Project, what we do

We aim to show how ecosystem-based fisheries management can be introduced to Europe. The project is based on the extensive research which has already been conducted by national governments and the European Union.

This is a governance-based project and is primarily focussed on showing how the different strands of information used in management (ecology, economics and social sciences) can be brought together into an integrated governance system.

We are using three regional case studies for the project. The regions follow the borders of the following Regional Advisory Committees (RACs) (see map below):
