Dr Cecilia Jukka is a Consultant Medical Microbiologist predominantly working between Royal Liverpool and Aintree University Hospitals.
She graduated from University of Leeds Medical School in 1985 but returned to her native Liverpool to start her specialty training. Much of her training was completed less than full time and Cecilia was appointed as Consultant Medical Microbiologist in 2003. She endeavours to utilise her own insight and experiences on flexible training for onward support and advice to others.
Alongside specialist interests in antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention, Cecilia is passionate about medical education and training.
She completed a Masters in Clinical Education at Edge Hill University in 2016 having completed a dissertation on 'perceptions of preparedness of foundation doctors for infection management and antimicrobial prescribing'.
In addition to her School of Medicine role as Deputy Director of Year 3, Cecilia is also the Foundation Training Programme Director and Academic Foundation Programme Lead at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals.
