As part of our commitment to CPD, we like to introduce the new Director of Educator Development, Dr Imran Zakria, who will be overseeing our Faculty of Academic and Clinical Educators scheme whilst Dr Victoria Tippett is on a period of maternity leave.
"I am delighted to have recently joined this amazing academic team and feel proud to be part of this historic institution, as Director of Educator Development, with best wishes for my predecessor who is having some time away.
I am an Emergencivist by background, working at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust as Emergency Medicine Consultant, not only trying to save some lives directly but also indirectly by ensuring that newly qualified doctors make the transition into real medical life safely and successfully, through my other role there as Foundation Programme Director.
I have been involved in teaching and training for many years, pitching at various grades and levels of medical students and resident doctors, with the ambition not only to enhance their learning and development but trying to make it as enjoyable experience as possible.
Additionally, I am an established instructor for national and international life support courses as well as examiner for Royal College of Emergency Medicine’s membership and fellowship exams. My special interests are Quality Improvement and Education Development, co-supporting numerous Associate Clinical Teachers (ACT), Clinical Education Fellows (CEF) in addition to continuously expand a pool of “clinical faculty” through Faculty of Academic and Clinical Educators (FACE), Expression of Interest (EOI) Liverpool Educators Online (LEO) and trying to cater their development needs as educators through FACE, Learning Lunches and other CPD events and activities.
I am hoping to streamline above programmes by making them more efficient and productive as all of us here put in lots of efforts and resources to make these things happen.
I am looking forward working with all of you!"
