Last weekend the LMSS (Liverpool Medical Students Society) completed their annual charity walk, this year taking on the Borrowdale 7 Challenge in the Lake District – that's seven peaks including England's highest, Scafell Pike.
This annual event is always a great way to kick things off for the LMSS Charity Association, bringing in lots of funds for local charities. So far, this year’s hike has raised over £2000 for Claire House and The Brain Charity and donations can still be made via the LMSS JustGiving page (link).
Charity Reps Jessica Longden and Katie Maxwell were delighted with the turnout.
“The LMSS Borrowdale 7 Challenge was a huge success this weekend! We had perfect weather, some glorious views and, despite the 2am wakeup, spirits were high all around.
We are so, so proud of everyone for their brilliant efforts throughout.
Despite some challenging terrains and a broken shoe, we managed to complete the challenge in less than 10 hours!
A huge thanks to Lakeland Mountain Guides (and Ralphie the dog) for their positivity and support throughout! Our JustGiving page is still open for donations, and all are greatly appreciated.
Keep your eye out for our future charity events, including our Grand Round, Annual Ball raffle8 and Fun Run. Mark the date for another LMSS Charities and Artefacts Strictly Come Dancing (link) taking place on 18th January 2025! We'll soon be recruiting professional and celebrity dancers, so get involved!”
Well done to all participants! Keep track of the society’s upcoming charitable events by following LMSS Charities on Instagram (link).
