On 18th May, both LMSFC and LMSWFC were given the unique opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Goodison Park for a match against Edge Hill Medical School.
Student Doctor Filip Skierski recounts: "The teams assembled on the day in the dressing rooms kindly vacated by Dyche, Pickford and co for photos, before entering the pitch down the tunnel to the iconic tune of Z-cars.
In a day where football was definitely the winner, it was goals galore for the mighty Liverpool Medics. 7-1 victors on the day meant we joined the likes of Eusebio and Pele (not to mention Big Dunc) in having scored at the Grand Old Lady.
The city will say goodbye to the much-loved stadium after the finish of next season, making the occasion one of the last times the public will be invited to play at the iconic ground.
For many of us ‘older players,’ it was a fitting way to bow out of our medical footballing careers. All in all, a day to remember!
Many thanks to Everton FC and & We are Figs for their support in making this event happen."
