string of fabric hearts

February, the month we often tell people how special we think they are.

Seven student doctors have been nominated this month for going above and beyond - we think that's pretty special!

Thank you to those who have taken the time to nominate.

Celebrating this month

Swawiza Gohobur, nominated by Mr Ben Fischer for excellent performance on Year 3 LOTS placement.

Rachel Gannaway, nominated by Dr Linda Watkins for performing above the expected level of a medical student on obstetrics and for positive impact on patient care.

Jacob Bloor, nominated by Dr Anne Robinson for outstanding leadership skills and contribution to patient safety though quality improvement.

Michelle Alexander, nominated by Dr Nicky Thorpe for demonstrating an excellent grasp of oncology and an interest and understanding beyond the usual expectations for a student doctor.

Liba Aysha, nominated by Dr Simon Graham for making an extremely positive impact on both colleagues and patients.

Aimee Hairon, nominated by Miss Kathryn Rhodes for showing amazing dedication and compassion to health care this year, working as a Health Care Assistant to help Jersey’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Olivia Butler, nominated by Dr Sharryn Gardner for demonstrating an extremely mature approach to placement and for communication skills beyond that expected of a medical student.

How to nominate

Commendations recognise our student doctors for activities where they have performed beyond expectations, including clinical skills, research activity, organising activities, helping others, dealing with unexpected events, leadership, and more.

Are you a Liverpool student doctor? Visit the Commendations page on the student intranet for full details on how to nominate a fellow student, team, or member of staff!
