And we're off! Kicking off a new year by celebrating our student doctors who have gone above and beyond in the last month.

Commendations are a great way of providing positive feedback to the hard-working individuals at the School of Medicine; check out the end of this article to see how you can nominate. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to nominate someone special!   
 

Celebrating this month

Alexander Walmsley, nominated by Dr Anne Robinson for exceptional leadership and communication skills during a final year placement. 
 
John O'Neill, nominated by Dr Kaylea Clark for outstanding commitment to all areas of performance on ICU.  

Eman Hasan, nominated by Dr Maria Parish for taking the initiative to form the Liverpool ENT Society (LENTS) during lock down. 

Brad Howis, nominated by Dr Pete Gledhill for exceptional performance on anaesthetics rotation, going above and beyond to support staff and patients. 

Katherine Rhodes, nominated by Ms Lisa Nash for demonstrating excellent clinical and communication skills while working as a volunteer at an antibody testing facility.  

Joe Clarkson, nominated by Dr Sylviane Defres for being an excellent team member and for development of work during SAMP in Infectious Diseases Department.  

Emily Thomas, nominated by Dr Rachel Shellien for being willing to help all members of staff on the ward, from HCAs to consultants, and for frequently taking on additional roles, demonstrating a high level of empathy and preserving patient dignity at all times. 

Vinesha Pillai Rajendra Prasad, nominated by Mr Peter Ralte for demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm on the Trauma and Orthopaedics placement.  

Phillipa Caine, nominated by Dr William Hunter for a high level of sustained professionalism and contribution to patient care. 

Charlotte Hankinson, nominated by Maggie Franklin and Grace Bamford for spending her Christmas holidays raising funds to buy gifts for children spending their Christmas in Warrington Hospital.  

Genevieve Easingwood, nominated by Dr Katie Bloor for outstanding dedication to placement and excellence in patient care.                                                                   

How to nominate

Commendations recognise our student doctors for activities where they have performed beyond expectations, including clinical skills, research activity, organising activities, helping others, dealing with unexpected events, leadership, and more.
