Share your #LivUniMemories

Published on

The National Student Survey is opening on the 4th Feb, giving all final year students the opportunity to share their #LivUniMemories.

We know this isn't your first rodeo.

If you are graduating from the School of Medicine in 2019, then over the past five years you have taken the time, more than once, to share your views on what the School is doing right, could improve, and needs to look at. You have given your feedback on proposed developments to the course, and left a real, indelible legacy at Liverpool - as we are sure you will continue to do, wherever you go next, as you continue your career in Medicine.

The NSS stands apart from other surveys or feedback as the only nationally recognised, University-backed survey that sits across all programmes and courses, UK-wide, which is why we are asking for your opinions one more time - it makes a real difference.

The NSS wants to know what you loved about your time at the University, what you didn’t, and where we can improve.

At the University we will also be sharing your throwback photos to mark how far you have all come - and not just yours! Some of your favourite Lecturers and Academic Advisors will be dusting off their graduation photos and digging out their old polaroids to join in, so keep an eye out.

Thank you

To acknowledge how much we appreciate your efforts to provide feedback, and to say thank you for taking part in the NSS, the University of Liverpool are offering students who take part in the survey the chance to win some pretty great prizes.

Starting from February, there are 12 weekly prize draws. Entered in week one and didn't win? You will stay in the prize draw for the full time the NSS is open - so the earlier you enter, the better your odds of taking home a prize!

Week 3) Xbox One X bundle

Week 4) Dr Dre Beats headphones

Week 5) Liverpool football tickets x 2

  • Revitalise – a charity providing short breaks and holidays (respite care) for disabled people and carers.
  • Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation – aims to provide help and hope to people affected by lung cancer.
  • Sahir House – provides information and support to people living with, affected by, or at risk of HIV.

If you are eligible, you will be able to take part in the survey by visiting the University National Student Survey webpages or by following the link you will receive to your University email account at the start of February.

What is the NSS all about?

The National Student Survey is commissioned by the Office for Students (OFS) and administered by independent research agency Ipsos MORI.  It is part of a quality assurance system to generate more detailed information about teaching quality.

The survey is an opportunity to share your opinions on what you like about the University, as well as things that you feel could be improved. It asks all final-year students, across the country to give their opinion on a number of areas including:

  • teaching quality
  • assessment and feedback
  • academic support
  • learning resources

Why should I take part?

Your views are important. Every year feedback from the NSS is used to make tangible improvements at the University. In the past at Liverpool, we have used feedback for everything from making printing cheaper, to introduce lecture-recording technology and even to develop new teaching facilities, like the 502 Teaching Hub which opened in 2018.

To take part in the survey, simply visit our National Student Survey webpages - we will share the link here, on VITAL, social media, and in the weekly student bulletin as soon as it goes live on the 4th Feb.

You can of course choose to complete the NSS via the NSS’s own website but in order to be entered into University of Liverpool prize draw you will need to take part in the survey via the University webpages.
