Student Commendations - Jan 2019

Published on

This month, we are celebrating a fantastic Year 3 Student Doctor for going above and beyond.

Niamh Horne is receiving her commendation after Mr David Smith took the time to nominate Niamh, and acknowledge her work:

"Niamh is the first student doctor in three years of me being an Academic Advisor, who I have felt compelled to commend for outstanding engagement with the ePortfolio. The very positive feedback that she received from the clinicians who assessed her ePortfolio items supports this statement. Niamh is also a keen contributor to our CCT sessions, always appearing engaged with & interested in the topic at hand, & having excellent case presentation skills. Please keep up the good work!"

Progression Review

To start 2019, we would also like to to take the opportunity to congratulate those student doctors who it has been noted during progression review have fully engaged with all course requirements.

Celebrating our students

We want to recognise and celebrate outstanding performance amongst our students, on clinical placements and within the School of Medicine.

We often hear about excellence, and commendation forms are the formal system to record these instances, and just as importantly, to provide positive feedback to hard working individuals and organisations.

How to nominate

The Commendation Form is for a student to be recognised for activities where they have performed beyond expectations, including clinical skills, research activity, organising activities, helping others, dealing with unexpected events, leadership.

Visit VITAL to download a Commendation Form, they are stored in the ‘Administration folder’ under each year, for example: MBCHB Year 1 Content 2018/19 > Administration > Student commendation form.

Completed forms should be sent directly to the Student Welfare & Support of Studies Team: wellbeing.mbchb@liverpool.ac.uk.

Forms are then emailed to the student who is being commended, and you can upload this to your E-portfolio under the prizes section. Students who have received a commendation form are also celebrated in The Pulse, the regular School student newsletter.
