Microaggression awareness training
Brought to you by the University of Liverpool Schools of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Anthony Walker Foundation, NHS Trusts in the North West of England and Health Education England.
In 2021 a series of live online training sessions were created for all NHS staff and clinical students who work and study across NHS trusts in the Mersey, Cheshire and Wirral and Lancashire Region.
This was in response to the large number of ‘lived experiences’ recently shared by staff and students working and training in the region.
Based upon these sessions, this training is now available to all staff and students at the University of Liverpool.
For students
The Microaggression Awareness Training is now accessed directly from the MBChB Canvas course.
*Please note that for 24/25, MAT will only be published in the GEP and Y1 MBChB courses - all other cohorts should have already completed the training module.
For University staff with canvas access
The Microaggression Awareness Training is now accessed via the HR101 course, in the Modules section (link). When enrolling colleagues for Canvas, we supply a 'self-enrol' link for HR101 - please highlight this and insert the self-enrol link on the webpage.
Clinical Educators without access to Canvas
Please access the training resources by clicking here.
You can also access Microaggression Training Resources to aid your study.
Please note that this content describes experiences of microaggressions. For those staff and students previously affected by episodes of microaggression, the content may trigger memories of these events and staff and students should not view the materials if they have any concerns about this.
If you require a certificate that features your score for CPD purposes, please get in touch.
If you would like to give us feedback on the Microaggressions Awareness Training, please do so via the School's contact page.
