About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and leading the Centre for Mathematical Imaging Techniques (CMIT) as well as the Imaging & Data Science group. Born in Hamburg, I received a PhD in Mathematics from the Technical University of Munich (Germany) in 2003, spent my postdoc years at the City University of New York (CUNY), Cornell University, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and the Technical University of Munich. I received a Habilitation degree from the Technical University of Munich in 2018 and joined the University of Liverpool in 2019. My research has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). My main research interests are in Discrete Inverse Problems, Geometric Clustering, Discrete & Geometric Tomography, and Mathematical Problems of Imaging & Materials Science.
