Professor Nicola Brown (Microcirculation Biology) is Head of the Academic Unit of Surgical Oncology at Sheffield University, where she established the Microcirculation Research Group. 

The Group's research is currently focussed on determining the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating angiogenesis in the development and progression of breast cancer and angiosarcoma, and the response of the tumour microenvironment to vascular-targeted therapy.  

She is also a member of the Breast Cancer Campaign Scientific Advisory Board, and an Expert Panel Member of the International Photodynamic Association advising the Director of NHS Cancer Services.
