5th May 2020 - Seminars: Professor Mark Chaplain (University of St Andrews)
* To be re-scheduled *
Professor Mark Chaplain currently holds the Gregory Chair of Applied Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, where his research interests include Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Oncology, and Theoretical Ecology.
His main area of current research is multiscale mathematical modelling of cancer growth and treatment.
He has developed a variety of original mathematical models for all the main phases of solid tumour growth (avascular, tumour-induced angiogenesis, vascular, invasion, metastasis), and has recently developed novel multiscale models of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment of cancer, spatio-temporal models of intracellular signalling pathways and a modelling framework for the metastatic spread of cancer.
