We are excited to announce the annual Distinguished Barkla Lecture in Theoretical Physics, will be taking place on Wednesday, 13th November, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Rotblat Lecture Theatre. This year, we are privileged to host Professor Ignacio Cirac, a leading figure in the field of quantum computation and its applications in information theory.

Professor Cirac, known for his groundbreaking work, will present his lecture titled "Quantum Computing and Simulation with Errors." His insights promise to illuminate the complexities and innovations surrounding quantum computing, making this a must-attend event for anyone interested in the future of technology.

The lecture is designed for a general audience, and we welcome students, staff, and alumni from across the department to join us.

We will be serving coffee starting at 4:30 PM, allowing attendees to mingle and connect before the lecture. Following the presentation, a reception will provide an opportunity for further discussion and networking.
