Research Overview

Our expertise is founded in engineering, and analytical science, enabling us to design and build bespoke instrumentation and novel solutions with a particular emphasis towards advanced portable analytical instrumentation.

 

The following support equipment and facilities (not exhaustive) are found within the labs of the Mass Spectrometry and Instrumentation research group.

 

• Ion Sources:

ESI, DAPCI, APPI, Paper Spray (including Verispray commercial source), Paper Arrow, Nano Spray, APCI, EI, CI, LTP, CD, amongst others.

 

• Mass Spectrometers:

LC-MS, GC-MS, QQQ, Orbitrap, Magnetic sector, QMS, portable MS.

 

• Other Instruments/Capabilities:

Raman, UV-Vis, SERS, Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) systems, LFA development, benchtop gel-documentation imaging system, various microscopes, amongst others.

 

• Fabrication:

Fibre laser cutter, CNC, EDM, 3D printers (SLA & FDM), sputterer, amongst others.
