Out of hours access building access
How to access a University building outside of normal working hours.
Out-of-hours access is after 5pm on weekdays and all day on a weekend.
If you know you will need to access a building outside of normal working hours, please inform your department head and Campus support on 0151 794 3252.
When working in the building always sign the out-of-hour book and include the location and your telephone number in case Campus support need to contact you in case of an emergency. Please ensure you also sign out when leaving.
Regular out-of-hour building access
If you need to access a University building outside of normal working hours on a regular basis, you may be able to for card reader access to the building and be issued with an alarm code. Please speak to your department head and Campus support on 0151 794 3252.
Should you enter a building out of hours and the intruder alarm activates call Campus Support on 0151 794 3252 immediately and a team member will attend and reset it.
Urgent building access
If you require urgent access to a building outside of your normal working hours, please contact the Campus support team on 0151 794 3252 and we will attend to give you access. A member of the team will need to see your staff or student ID card before allowing entry.
Unknown persons and tailgating
Although the campus buildings are secured with swipe access, at times people who don’t have swipe access may try and tailgate/follow you into the building. Should you witness this either inform the Building Manager/Halls reception team or if out of hours contact the control room immediately.
If you see someone acting suspiciously or you don’t recognise them in your building, always contact Campus support and provide a description of the person(s) so we can attend.
