Congratulations on securing an offer on MSc Organisational Psychology programme!
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our thriving learning and research community at the University of Liverpool Management School this autumn.
You are about to start a fascinating journey through the major theoretical and applied topics in the field of occupational and organisational Psychology. Through a wide range of teaching and learning activities, you will acquire the necessary knowledge, abilities and skills to make a positive difference to the well-being and effectiveness of people and organisations.
There is so much you can look forward to through large group lectures, small group interactive face-to-face seminars, practical workshops, bite-sized video lectures, guest speakers, and much more!
To give you a taste of the programme content, in your first semester, you will be taking the following modules:
ULMS522: “Strategic Learning Training and Development” will draw upon the latest evidence-based knowledge and practice to equip you with the ability to critically understand, evaluate and apply theories, concepts and tools relating to organisational, group and individual learning, talent development, training, succession planning and organisational development.
ULMS882: “Well-being and Work” will offer an insight into the discipline of Occupational Health Psychology. It will cover the latest cutting-edge research to build evidence-based interventions to enhance individual and organisational well-being.
ULMS880: “Advanced Research Methods in Organisational Psychology” will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of research design, methodology and data analysis needed to plan and complete a research project. Expect to explore both quantitative and qualitative research designs and analyses. This module will prepare you for your final empirical research project.
ULMS794: “Diversity Management and Inclusion” will reinforce your critical understanding of diversity in the workplace by introducing you to the legal, social and psychological frameworks underlying diversity management, as well as the policies and practices implemented by organisations to manage diversity.
If you would like to familiarise yourself with some of the above topics, you can start by looking at the two key textbooks for the programme, both available as e-books on the University of Liverpool library website:
