A message from your Associate Dean

Congratulations on securing your place on our Liverpool MBA programme at the triple-accredited University of Liverpool Management School. The MBA team and I are looking forward to welcoming you onto campus in January.

Your MBA experience begins on Thursday 30 January in your MBA space - the Brett building.  You will meet your MBA team and fellow students and discuss what you want to achieve at the end of your   MBA and how we can support you in achieving those ambitions.

Our MBA programme combines theory with practical experiences that have a real impact on you. We offer diverse and innovative opportunities from experiencing a corporate boardroom scenario using immersive VR to networking with top industry leaders, many of whom include our dedicated 35,000 alumni from across the world. Our classroom extends beyond the Brett building and into the Liverpool City Region and wider, gaining valuable insights from SMEs, through to multinational businesses and organisations.

And a programme highlight for our MBAs - the European study trip. With the location of our 2026 trip to be confirmed, recent trips have included Milan and Madrid. Yet wherever the location, you'll embark upon a week of exploratory visits, networking with industry leaders and unforgettable experiences.

You will be taught by world-leading teaching staff and access unique resources including the McKenzie Trading Room – the largest of its kind in any UK university and home to the Bloomberg terminals; allowing access to specialist financial data such as equities, commodities, foreign exchange and price indices.

Dedicated career support

Alongside our teaching and resources, we offer the support of your dedicated career and professional development coach, Bernie Lyons. Bernie's support is highly valued by our MBAs and includes a personalised career plan, psychometric testing, interview preparation and help preparing a CV that best highlights your skills, experiences and qualifications to potential employers.

Your life in Liverpool

We understand that moving to a new city and university can seem daunting.  Therefore, we have organised events and a schedule of induction activities in our Welcome and Foundation Weeks. I’m confident that these will help you to settle in and discover the amazing city of Liverpool – voted the seventh best city in the world in Time Out for 2024 and a place known for its friendly people, culture, sports, music and architecture.

I am excited to share in your development in the coming year, and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to further your studies and your career with us. During your studies at the University, and beyond, we will be your partners in learning - committed to and proud of the success you achieve.

With my best wishes,

Dr John Byrom
