Research Overview

My research lies at the intersection of behavioral strategy and organizational design. I explore behavioral biases (e.g., inertia) in resource allocation decisions of organizations and examine various organizational design choices that may mitigate or exacerbate such biases. Specifically, I investigate how levels of financial resource reallocation vary under centralized or decentralized capital allocation processes. In another paper, I examine the role of institutional ownership in reallocation of financial resources as a response to performance feedback. In a related stream of research, I examine how managerial cognition shaped by varying experiences helps them develop superior strategic foresight. Furthering my agenda in behavioral strategy, I am developing a new project on how organizational performance on focal goals impacts the setting of aspiration levels for other goals.
