About
Dr Jiyoun Chang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organisation Studies at the Work, Organisation, and Management group. Her project is funded by c4c (connect4children), looking at the network management and the evaluation of pediatric clinical drug trials.
Jiyoun’s research lies in the intersection of management, policy, and the healthcare sector, focusing on diverse themes of public management reform, governance structure, innovation and technology in the business of healthcare, healthcare professionals, and (public) health service delivery system and policy.
Her academic research activities were conducted at King’s Business School, the Policy Institute (King’s College London), and King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC, King's College London), and currently at the University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS). She has undertaken diverse projects in the context of South Korea (government and healthcare system), the UK (NHS England), and Europe (network of clinical drug trials).
She obtained her PhD in Public Management from King’s Business School, King’s College London (2024). Her thesis explored the health policy process from the 2015 MERS epidemic to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea, by analysing the collaboration and power dynamics of policy stakeholders and organisational change. Her study provides policy implications for future pandemic and epidemic management.
She received her BA and MA in Public Administration from Ewha Womans University (South Korea).
