About

I am a chartered accountant having qualified with PwC in 2004. I worked in the audit and assurance department in the Liverpool office, working on a range of clients including local manufacturers, a betting and gaming company and a premier league football club. During my time at PwC, I began teaching auditing to new graduates and to more experienced staff. I really enjoyed teaching so when the opportunity to move into higher education arose, I was very excited to take it.

I worked at Manchester Business School for several years where I was programme director for the BSc Accounting and taught on the undergraduate and MBA programmes. My main teaching areas were financial reporting and management accounting and I taught in lots of locations around the world including Hong Kong, Malaysia and Dubai.

In 2013 I moved to the University of Liverpool where I am very happy to part of an accounting team who share my interest in delivering innovative and interesting teaching, and on making sure our students have a great experience whilst they are studying here. I am part of our 'We Love Auditing' teaching team and am responsible for the ever popular 'Friday Night Auditing Club'. I am also module leader for the placement preparation module for students who intend to undertake a year in industry. I work closely with the careers department and with graduate employers to ensure students have plenty of opportunities to develop the skills employers are looking for.

I have a lovely husband and two adorable children. I am a season ticket holder at Everton and regularly attend the always illuminating cheese school.
