Colleagues from Centre for Organisational and Employee Wellbeing join workplace diversity event
Colleagues from the Management School's Centre for Organisational and Employee Wellbeing (COEW) joined the informative session led by Aaron & Partners LLP, 'Navigating the Modern Workplace: Embracing Change, Diversity and Wellbeing'.
The event, which took place on Wednesday 11 October at the School of Law and Social Justice, opened with an introduction by Paul Hennity, Senior Associate at Aaron and Partners, who provided some definitions of discrimination, harassment and victimisation based on the Equality Act 2010.
Paul also gave some interesting examples of recent case law and high profile reporting, before concluding with some good practice for employers.
Professor Lilian Otaye-Ebede delivered an engaging research supported presentation on 'Promoting Race Representation, Inclusion and Culture Change', which led to some interesting discussion and lots of practical takeaways for those who attended.
The COEW is led by Professor Damian O’Doherty and brings together interdisciplinary researchers to shed light on how organising and managing affects production, working life and health, and how to thrive and flourish, whether as organisations or employees.
Current work ranges from AI and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion and menopause in the workplace.
