Project news

The researchers working on the GOLF project have attended, as well as hosted, a number of events and workshops. Moreover, they have published a number of articles in relation to their research.

Events/workshops

December 2019

A workshop for the GOLF Project was held at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand between 9 and 11 December 2019. Representatives from each of the international project partners was in attendance. The workshop took place during the first reporting stage of the project so this was discussed, as well as sharing project research and planning follow-up activities. Furthermore, there were opportunities for attendees to tour the campus and local area. On the final day the executive board meeting was held.

June 2019

A workshop for the GOLF Project on 'Sustainable Agri-food Supply Chain Management - Logistics and Cold Chain Configuration for Waste Reduction', was held at Dalian Maritime University (DMU) in China. Partners presented their research, the Executive Board and Steering Committee met, where they discussed the project secondment plan and made plans for future research proposals and joint research publications. Workshop participants had the opportunity of joining a DMU campus tour, including a visit to the University History Building and Navigation Simulator.

March 2019

The GOLF Project mid-term meeting and workshop took place at Hull University. The programme focused on updates from each partner institution on their work packages as well as presentations and face-to-face meetings with those who have completed secondments. The first day was attended by an REA representative from the European Commission and there was an opportunity for staff members who'd completed secondments to discuss possible critical issues in their experience with the RISE project within the present REA regulations. On the second day, research based presentations were given by each partner including case studies by those who had completed secondments. Executive Board members also met for the Executive Board and Steering Group meeting.

December 2018

The GOLF workshop was helped at Nong Lam University, together with the 2nd International Scientific Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment. During the first day, partners presented their progress and secondments, the challenges faced as well as future research agendas. On the second day, the Executive Board Meeting was held and then followed by a session of reporting research and discussions from all work packages.

July 2018

The 2nd EURO Working Group Conference on Sustainable Supply Chains was organised by Wageningen University and held in Amsterdam on 6 and 7 July. Participants from 13 different countries participated in the event and presented their work on sustainable supply chains and the circular economy.

The 2nd EWG PhD Summer School on Sustainable Supply Chains was held at Wageningen University from 2 July to 5 July. PhD students from many different universities attended, followed lectures on various modelling approaches relevant to sustainability in supply chains and worked on cases dealing with urban food distribution networks, as well as international multi-model distribution systems.

June 2018

The 4th Project Logistics Conference was organised by the University of Hull and was held in Hull on 28 and 29 June. Researchers from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University were in attendance.

February 2018

The project kick-off meeting took place at the University of Liverpool on 1 and 2 February. During the first day, project consortium members met and shared their expertise and initial plans for project activities. On the second day an extended Supervisory Board meeting was held to discuss project management issues. At the end, a brief meeting of the Steering Committee was held.
