Latest Entrepreneurs Monthly Meet-Up gathers nearly 100 students
The first Entrepreneurs Monthly Meet-up (EMM) of 2023-24, hosted by the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship (BCfE) in partnership with Yellow Jumper, was successfully attended by nearly 100 students.
The event, which took place on 19 October at Selina Liverpool, is one the most highly attended since the start of the project in May 2022, demonstrating the value it brings to students interested in pursuing a career in entrepreneurship.
"It’s brilliant to see that new undergraduate and post-graduate students are also really interested in entrepreneurship" said BCfE's Entrepreneur in Residence and EMM organiser, Richard Leighton.
"The entrepreneurial community we have created looks like it’s going to continue to grow and develop more and more this year and that’s great."
Yellow Jumper founder and guest speaker, Rebecca Stockdale, delivered an insightful talk explaining how her business supports entrepreneurs and start-ups across the North-West, to successfully develop and grow their commercial and social enterprises.
She shared her experiences of working with start-up owners to define and shape their business and product/service offering, and spoke with passion about setting-up Yellow Jumper.
Rebecca also outlined the ways following a 'Lean Start-up' methodology, using a combination of pilots and seeking customer feedback can help current and future entrepreneurs de-risk business decisions, address challenges and speed up growth.
She also took questions from the audience around some of the challenges founders face when setting up their own businesses.
One of the attendees to the event was Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management MSc graduate, Vishnu Prajul, who said: "Rebecca's insights on 'Lean Start-up' and experiments were incredibly valuable.
"The event provided a platform for meaningful discussions and networking opportunities that are vital for any entrepreneur's journey.
"I attend the Entrepreneurs Monthly Meet-up regularly because it offers a unique environment to learn, share experiences and foster connections with like-minded individuals in the entrepreneurial community."
