The University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) is home to a diverse international student body, with students from 66 countries across five continents. For many, arriving in Liverpool marks their first experience away from home and their first international trip.

At ULMS, the celebration of diversity is at the core of the student experience. As part of the Enhance Week, which is a key feature of the Enhance Programme, during semester two, students were invited to showcase their heritage and culture through the Heritage and Culture Showcase, a celebratory event held on Wednesday 5 March 2025.

The event brought together eight international student groups, each receiving £200 to showcase their unique cultures, traditions, and culinary delights. Some of the highlights included:

Group One: Korean Society
Representing the Korean Society, MSc Business Analytics and MSc Data Science and AI students June Seo, Jiwon Lee, and Jintaek Uh introduced visitors to traditional Korean childhood games like Congi, famously featured in Squid Game.

Participants advanced through different levels to earn prizes such as fire noodles and seaweed. The group also launched a webpage where visitors could discover their "former life" level and have their English names translated into Korean.

Group Two: Mithai Mafia
Akarsh, Tosit, Dipita, Preeti, Charitha, and Aishi from the Master in Management programme brought a taste of India to the event with an array of regional sweet delicacies.

The group distributed Thirukural verses, offering tokens of inspiration alongside traditional treats like sakarai pongal, muruku, and peanut snacks.

Group Three: Biryani and Beyond
Nandana Sathyanarayan, Lavanya Anand, Johaniel, Greeshma KH, and Anurag Shete, representing the Master in Management and MSc Advanced Computer Science programmes, provided a culinary journey through South Asia.

Dishes like chicken biryani, puliogare, kheer, and samosas filled the air with delightful aromas. They also hosted activities such as rangoli making and a sticker collection challenge.

The event was enriched with music from around the world, adding to the vibrant atmosphere and complementing the diverse cultural displays. Other participating groups included:
