Virtual Business Breakfast on Purposeful Organisational Design for Modern Businesses
The University of Liverpool Management School held its latest
Keynote speaker, Peter Lawrence, Director of onepeterfour, shared knowledge and insights into organisational design highlighting examples and learning from throughout his career.
Peter delivered an engaging presentation which outlined the basic processes for successful organisational design as well as key elements such as timelines, themes and values.
Peter shared: “Whilst 'design' is a well-established concept for many aspects of life, such as the houses we live in, the clothes we wear, it is often not applied when we consider the organisations and communities we lead. It is our belief that organisations and communities which are intentionally and intelligently designed, are more likely to work better.
"Whilst outputs can be delivered by individuals working within an organisation, effective and efficient outcomes that impact upon the whole community can only be achieved when the whole system is included and the different parts work together in collaboration. It aligns all activities from Inputs through to Impact.”
Following the presentation, a Q&A session hosted by Iona Thomson took place resulting in an engaging discussion amongst our speaker and attendees, with questions ranging from the basics of undertaking organisational design to which additional resources came recommended by Peter.
