MSc Finance students enjoy insightful visit to London
MSc Finance students from the University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) travelled down to London, immersing themselves in an insightful tour of the Bloomberg European Headquarters and Security HQ and engaging with ULMS alumni.
The visit to these two esteemed organisations provided an excellent opportunity for the students to gain knowledge of Bloomberg’s advanced technology and operations while revelling in the architecture of one of the world’s most sustainable office buildings. It also allowed them to discover firsthand the cybersecurity protocols at Security HQ, a leading independent managed security service provider (MSSP).
MSc Finance student, Sellshiya Dsilva, said: “I want to express my sincere gratitude for organising the study tour to London, especially to Bloomberg and the Security HQ. This experience was incredibly valuable and has greatly enhanced my understanding of the industry.”
The speed networking session with several alumni from the 2019 to 2023 programmes was another highlight of the trip. Speaking to the students about their career journeys and current roles, the alumni shared key learnings, professional advice and practical insights into their respective sectors. The networking element also served as an excellent platform for the students to ask questions and make connections.
Dr Davide Avino, Director of Studies, MSc Finance, said: “We had a fantastic trip to London with our current cohort of MSc Finance students.
“We sincerely thank our alumni June Blake, Aadil Essa, Calum Ogram, Maxwell Samuda, Ryan Sidey, Stephen Adenuga, Aishwarya Kamoji, Rooshan Munawar, Joseph Booker and Ujjawal Mittal for offering to talk and engage with our students who enjoyed the interaction and were definitely inspired by their achievements and career trajectories.”
“We’re grateful to David Voegele and James Coyle for opening the Bloomberg doors for us, as well as to Sanket Khanolkar, Doug Herbert and their team for giving us the opportunity to visit their secure data centre.”
