Sky Kick It Out scholars gain exclusive behind the scenes insight at Sky Sports Studios
Our Sky Kick It Out MBA scholars recently visited the Sky Sports studios in London for an immersive day behind the scenes. The visit offered a unique opportunity to engage with industry professionals, including journalists, presenters, editors, and production teams.
One of the highlights of the day was the scholars’ participation in a live interview on Sky Sports News alongside Tony Burnett, Chief Executive of Kick It Out. During the interview, the scholars discussed what attracted them to the Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) programme, as well as sharing their experiences to date, and outlining their future aspirations.
Scholars Umara Ali, Siddique Ahmed, Christina Taylor, and Jonathan Fadugba also had the chance to network with senior leaders at Sky. Sharing his excitement about the opportunity, Siddique said:
"I've had an incredible experience at Sky Studios in London today, appearing live on Sky Sports News! We discussed the amazing scholarship from Kick It Out and Sky, and shared insights from our journey on the University of Liverpool Management School’s FIMBA programme. Grateful for this opportunity and determined to make the most of it”.

This year is the third year of this innovative partnership between Sky, anti-racism organization Kick It Out, and the University of Liverpool Management School. The partnership awards full scholarships—each worth £25,950—to four UK residents from under represented ethnic minority groups. These scholarships equip candidates with essential skills and experiences in business and leadership, preparing them for successful careers in football and sports.
The FIMBA is renowned as the world's only football-focused MBA. It emphasises business and management within the global football industry and is the highest-ranking UK and European MBA in the 2023 SportsBusiness Postgraduate Top 31 Rankings. Alumni of the FIMBA, including former Sky Kick It Out scholars, are thriving in roles across the global sports industry, from football clubs and associations to entrepreneurial initiatives.
