Management School appoints new Professors across several disciplines

The University of Liverpool Management School has recently appointed several professors across a diverse array of the School's subject groups - such appointments will help to excel the triple-accredited Management School’s dedication to creating an innovative learning environment with world-leading research.

 Professor Shantanu Banerjee

Amongst the new appointees includes Professor Shantanu Banerjee, who joined the School in March as Professor in the Accounting and Finance group. His research interests encompass Corporate Finance issues and their interaction with Accounting regulations and practices. Dr Banerjee’s work has contributed to debates on the investment decision of firms, financing choice, financial misconduct, product market strategy, IPO, bankruptcy, executive compensation, sustainability in business and corporate social responsibility.

Banerjee’s work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, European Journal of Operational Research and Journal of Business Ethics. He is an editor of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting and is member of the scientific committees of several academic organisations. His doctoral degree in Finance is from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He studied Economics before that, and has an MPhil degree in Economics from Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India.


 Professor Zlatko Bodrozic

Joining the School in April is Professor Zlatko Bodrozic who has been appointed as Professor of Digital Transformation in the Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) group. Zlatko previously worked at the University of Leeds as an Associate Professor in Technology, Organisation and Sustainability. Zlatko's research focuses on the evolution of technologies, organisational paradigms/management models, and public policy. At the European Group of Organizational Studies conferences (2021-2024), he acts as co-coordinator of the Standing Working Group "Organization Studies in the Anthropocene: System Change, not Climate Change".

His research has been published in Production & Operations Management, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organization Science. Zlatko is also involved in leading the Scientific committee for EGOS2027.


 Professor Dennis Jancsary

Finally, October will see Professor Dennis Jancsary joining the Management School as Professor of Organisation Studies in the Work, Organisation and Management (WOM) group. Professor Jancsary received his PhD in Business Administration from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) in 2011. His current focal interest is in contemporary organizational landscapes and novel forms of organizing, for instance in the context of societal grand challenges, organizational and system resilience, and collaborative action across differences. He is particularly intrigued by the role of visual and multimodal forms of communication. Methodologically, his focus is on innovative qualitative and mixed methods approaches to textual and discourse analysis, including visual and multimodal analysis.

His work has been published in prominent outlets such as the Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Organization Studies, and Journal of Management Studies. He currently serves as Senior Editor of Organization Studies and is a member of the Editorial Board of Organization Theory.


Professor Lisa Anderson

In addition, returning to the School in March is Professor Lisa Anderson, who previously held the position of Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor Education in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences since 2022. Lisa has worked at the University since 2005 with additional roles in that time including Associate Dean Postgraduate in the Management School and Director of Online Programmes for ULMS.

Lisa returns as a Professor of Management Learning and her research focuses on how managers learn in a range of contexts, from on-campus and online management classrooms through to formal and informal learning in the workplace. Her work has been published in journals including Academy of Management Learning and Education, British Journal of Management, Management Learning and Human Resource Development International.
