MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management students visit Airbus
MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management students recently visited the Airbus site in Broughton on Thursday 13 July, organised by the programme Director of Studies Dr Matthew Tickle.
The site is the largest aircraft wing manufacturing plant in the world with a rich history having been originally built to manufacture Lancaster Bombers during the Second World War.
Students were shown around the site and were treated to a tour of the A350 factory; here they were able to walk along the production line observing the wings as they progressed through the manufacturing process.
Afterwards, the students were given the opportunity to talk with staff who gave them career advice on the opportunities available at Airbus, as well as suggestions for how to successfully apply for the roles available based on their personal experience.
The group also managed to watch the famous Beluga transporter take off from the site carrying the finished wings to another Airbus factory in Germany!
