Two Management School teams make it to the final of the University Business Challenge Global Masters Competition
Every year the Management School enters teams in into the University Business Challenge Global Masters Competition. Of the six teams that were entered, two teams have made it into the final which will be taking place at Aston University on Friday 24 March.
The University has a great history in the competition having finished runners-up in the final for the last two years and hopes to go one better this year and bring the winner’s trophy back to the School!
In order to qualify for the final, the teams have been acting as a board of directors, who had taken responsibility for improving the performance of the company in a business simulation. They needed to not only consider the financial performance of the company, but also its responsibilities to its various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and employees.
Each week represented a six-month trading period for the company, decisions needed to be based on a range of internal and external information with a view to acquiring a higher market share and larger profit than the teams from other Universities they were competing against in their qualification groups.
Good luck to both Management School teams, Team AB and Team AC!
Team AB consists of Shem Obadiaru (MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management), Miteek Chheda (Finance and Investment Management), Jericho Muwanga (MSc Financial Technology), Chris James Joseph (MSc Business Analytics and Big Data), and Durga Manoj Kumar Suja (MSc Business Analytics and Big Data).
Team AC consists of Talal Ahmad (MSc Business Analytics and Big Data), Merin Ardra Sojan (MSc Marketing), Ujjawal Mittal (MSc Finance), Harsh Thakkar (MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management), and Israel Richards Paul Moses Samuel (MSc Business Analytics and Big Data).
