Guest speakers deliver talk to Human Resource Management students
University of Liverpool MSc Human Resource Management students recently welcomed Alumna Victoria Brown to deliver an online guest lecture as part of their learning on their CIPD accredited HRM: Academic and Practitioner Perspectives module.
Victoria, who studied Psychology at the University, is Managing Director of High Performance Consultancy and spoke candidly on the how organisations need to re-think how to manage employees in the new virtual world of work. She brought some excellent insights from business indicating how HRM is uniquely positioned to create meaningful change.
Along with Victoria, the students also got to hear from Helen Turner, a training specialist with Costa Express. Helen presented students with an excellent example of an HR innovation in training, developed to adapt to the changing world of work, and which in turn, provided a competitive advantage for Costa.
Speaking about her talk, Victoria said:
“It was lovely to be back where I started with the University and was delighted to talk with the students, who were really engaged and curious.”
Helen said:
“Thank you for inviting Costa Coffee to share some of our new innovations we have been working on. It was super exciting to present to future HRM professionals who I’m sure will continue to innovate, bring their own ideas and future proof approaches in HR & Training. Thank you HRM students!”
