The ULMS Study Abroad Team, led by Professor Terry McNulty, has followed up their Faculty Learning and Teaching Award from earlier this year; by winning the Sir Alistair Pilkington Award!

The team’s development of several Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Projects, which involves ULMS students working with students from other international partner universities on a range of business-related problems, was presented during an event on Tuesday 26 April to colleagues across the faculty and wider institution.

The team were commended on the impact the projects have had on students and the way that they have been able to engage with key strategic themes like Sustainability, Internationalisation, Alumni relations and Employability.

Professor McNulty commented:

“Enabling international student exchange has been critical to our response to the pandemic and constraints on student international mobility. For ULMS, COILS are a strategic innovation that serve excellence in our education and international strategies. The actual impact of COILS shows them to be an effective student focused innovation in international education and pedagogy, the benefits of which extend far beyond being a substitute for mobility.

"I am delighted by this recognition for my professional services and academic colleagues from the Business Management, Marketing, International Business and MBA programmes, for the creativity, will and skill they have shown in developing and delivering projects at scale and pace with partners in the US, Europe and India. We look forward to building on these achievements by promoting and developing COILS with our colleagues in the University and International Partner community.”
