Management School programmes re-accredited by ACCA
The Management School’s BA Business Economics and BSc Economics programmes have been re-accredited by ACCA for another five years.
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global body for professional accountants. Employers across the globe seek out ACCA-trained professionals as they know they have the strategic thinking, technical skills and professional values to drive their organisations forward.
ACCA accreditation means that once students have completed their BSc Economics or BA Business Economics degree, depending upon their module choices, they may not have to take all of the exams required for the ACCA qualification. Subject to module choices, graduates may be exempt from the ‘Business and Technology’ and ‘Financial Management’ exams, with those who studied Business Economics offered a further two exemptions: ‘Performance Management’ and ‘Financial Reporting’.
Dr Emma Apps, Director of Studies BA Business Economics, and Dr Sarah Louisa Phythian-Adams, Director of Studies BSc Economics, said: “Both programmes have outstanding employability statistics and links with Professional Bodies are further evidence of the practical relevance and skills acquired. The BSc and BA incorporate a valuable mix of research led teaching from our superb team of academics along with authentic modes of assessment, both directly applicable to the future career paths of our students. We are delighted that ACCA have acknowledged this through the accreditation.”
Both BA Business Economics and BSc Economics are recognised as official economics programmes by the Government Economic Service. Students also benefit from outstanding learning facilities, including the opportunity to gain experience using real-time trading information, economic and financial news in our Bloomberg Trading Floor.
