Master’s student receives funding for business venture
Phoebe Baldwin, MSc Marketing student, was recently successful in securing funding from The Enterprise Fund for her small business, Fair To Look Fabulous.
The Enterprise Fund is a scheme ran by The University of Liverpool and Santander Universities UK to support undergraduate or postgraduate students with their entrepreneurial ideas. Awards of up to £500 are available and can be used to support student activities such as training courses to develop skills, seed funding for developing a business idea, or funding for travel to enterprise competitions.
After an initial application, entrants were then required to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges.
Phoebe commented: “I am absolutely over the moon and very grateful to say I am being awarded the £500.
“It is fantastic that the University of Liverpool and Santander are supporting young entrepreneurs like this and I’d just like to say a huge thank you to the judges for believing in me and my business.”
Fair To Look Fabulous is a beauty brand offering affordable, high quality, vegan false eyelashes. The company prides itself on being fair to the animals, fair to the planet and fair to its customers’ bank accounts.
The award will help to develop the brand’s online presence using influencer marketing and paid collaborations with popular beauty gurus on Instagram. Phoebe will also use part of the award to undertake specialised educational courses in digital marketing. This will enable her to produce high quality promotional digital campaigns to help raise awareness of the brand.
