PhD students attend employability workshop
Accounting and Finance PhD students recently attended a job market and employability skills workshop as part of the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (NWSSDTP).
The workshop, which was funded by ESRC, is an annual event and this year was attended by 50 PhD students. It aims to enhance participants’ employability skills in the job market and provide support in relation to the publication of their research.
After a welcome talk from Professor Alex Kostakis, attendees presented their research projects. A total of 23 papers, from three partner institutions were presented.
Awards were given in a number of areas:
Best paper award - Mohamed Badawy
Best presentation award - Claudia Marangoni
Most promising project award - Rui Shi
Most promising project award - Jiali Yan
Next year’s workshop will be hosted by Lancaster University.
