Burberry CIO delivers MBA masterclass
Mark McClennon, Chief Information Officer at Burberry, recently visited the Management School to deliver an MBA masterclass.
As well as his role at Burberry, which he began in 2017, Mark is also a Non-Executive Director at Bonmarche and Chair of the Digital Route Panel at Institute for Apprenticeships. He previously spent 29 years working in managerial roles at Unilever after graduating from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Mathematics.
During his talk, Mark drew on his experience of working in various multinational organisations to discuss strategy, artificial intelligence and technological advancement. He also spoke about monitoring and responding to competition and emerging trends within luxury fashion brands.
Throughout the session, attendees were given insight into the skills needed to be a CIO and advice on how to scale start-up businesses into larger organisations.
