Management School to partner with 2019 Aintree Grand Women’s Summit
The University of Liverpool Management School has partnered with Aintree Racecourse and Women in Racing for the 2019 Aintree Grand Women’s Summit.
The Aintree Grand Women’s Summit, which is held during the Grand National festival, celebrates women in horseracing, sport and business. This year’s panellists include Tracey Neville MBE, head coach of the England Netball team, Bryony Gordon, Telegraph Columnist and bestselling author, and Denise Lewis OBE, one of Great Britain’s most well-known sports stars. The discussion will focus on mental wellbeing in sport.
Neil Coster, Director of Studies of the Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA (THIMBA) programme, said “We are really excited to partner with the Grand Women’s Summit and have the opportunity to be part of this special event in Liverpool. Our MBA offers students a unique chance to understand the business dynamics of horseracing and we are delighted that a number of projects studied as part of the MBA are influencing industry decision-making.”
The Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA has recently been redesigned and is now recruiting students for its next intake of students in September 2019. Recent graduates have produced exciting and high profile research, including a project by Vanessa Cashmore which investigated the performance of female jockeys. Three 2018 graduates will also be presenting their research at the upcoming Horseracing Industry conference at the University’s London campus.
