Race named after MBA programme takes place at Haydock Park
A race named after the Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA (THIMBA) programme took place at Haydock Park on Wednesday 5th December.
The Liverpool University Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA Novices’ Chase was named by Haydock Park as a mark of celebration for the graduation of THIMBA’s 2016-18 cohort. The racecourse also hosted a special reception for graduates and their families to recognise their achievement.
The THIMBA programme is the only masters-level qualification to be delivered through an exclusive partnership with The Racing Foundation, The Horseracing Betting Levy Board and the British Horseracing Authority. It is currently being redesigned to incorporate more online teaching, as well as more innovative teaching techniques, and is due to be re-launched in September 2019.
4 horses ran in the race with Mr Whipped finishing in first place.
Neil Coster, Director of Studies Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA, said “We are very grateful to Jockey Club Racecourses for hosting this event. It was great to celebrate the achievements of our students and the hard work they have put in over the past two years.
A number of our graduates’ projects will feature at the second Horseracing Industry Conference next February. I look forward to seeing how their research can be used to help influence decision making across the UK horseracing industry.”
The School will be holding the 2019 Horseracing Conference on Tuesday 5th February at the University of Liverpool in London.
