Undergraduate students take part in speed networking event

Undergraduate students from the Management School recently took part in a Year in Industry speed networking session as part of the University’s Spring Careers Fair.

The event took place at The Crypt Hall in Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral and allowed students to meet a number of placement employers to find out more about the opportunities available and ask questions about the application process.

Sandra Hughes, Placements and Internships Coordinator at the Management School, commented “The networking event was a great opportunity for students to find out more about placement opportunities.  It also enabled them to talk directly to employers in an informal setting so they could get the information they need.”

The Year in Industry programme is available to all undergraduate students and involves taking a placement year as part of their degree to help develop the key skills graduate employers look for.  The speed networking session formed part of the support offered by the careers team to help students improve their employability and prepare for their Year in Industry.
