Ugo Ehiogu, a former England international footballer enrolled on the University of Liverpool’s LMA Diploma in Football Management, has died suddenly at the age of 44.

Programme Director, Professor Sue Bridgewater said: “We have been fortunate to spend a great deal of time with Ugo over the past year. A nicer and more genuinely lovely man you couldn't wish to meet.

“An up and coming coach and prospective football manager, he had such a bright future ahead of him. I am devastated to hear this news and my condolences are with all of Ugo's family and friends.”

Ugo was due to graduate this summer, having enrolled on the University of Liverpool Management School run course in June 2016.

Employed as Tottenham Hotspur Under-23 coach, Ugo made more than 400 appearances for clubs Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield United and Glasgow Rangers.
