MBA students and Alumni attend high profile networking dinner
Current and former students of the Management School’s MBA programmes were invited to attend a formal MBA dinner to enhance their networking opportunities.
The networking dinner took place at the Victoria Gallery and Museum on the evening on the 2nd March. This dinner provided an excellent opportunity for students to apply the networking skills they have developed throughout the MBA programme in a formal environment, with senior University staff members, University partners and alumni from the business community.
Teaching staff from the MBA programmes attended the dinner along with prominent business figures from the Merseyside region. School Director, Professor Julia Balogun was also in attendance.
Member of the Management School Advisory Board, Norman Molyneux commented on the importance of the event suggesting that networking should go beyond your colleagues and social media. He spoke about making connections with people outside of your comfort zone to really develop a varied and valuable network. Norman has been assisting SME’s with start-up, development and scale-up funding for over 20 years through his role as founder and chief executive of Acceleris Capital and board member of Seneca Partners Limited.
Other members of the Advisory Board in attendance included Dr Rick Parry, who has had a successful and varied career in the football industry having previously held the position Liverpool Football Club as Chief Executive. At University of Liverpool Rick serves on the Foundation Leadership Team, the Management School Advisory Board and contributes to the Football Industry MBA course.
