Safety and Regulatory Compliance Coordinator for Institute of Systems, Molecular, & Integrative Biology

What did you study at A-level (or equivalent) and why did you select those subjects?    
I studied Chemistry, Biology and Maths as they were required for my degree.

What degree/PhD did you study?    
Biochemistry BSc Hons, MRes in Biological Sciences, and just starting a degree in Health & Safety.

What inspired you to choose and study your degree subject?    
A strong interest in the field and a desire to build a meaningful career led me to pursue my degree. 

What jobs have you had during your career?  
Pharmaceutical Research Scientist, Laboratory Manager, Facilities Manager, Health and Safety Advisor and Consultant. 

What is your current job and what do you enjoy about it?    
I am currently a Safety and Regulatory Compliance Coordinator for Institute of Systems, Molecular, & Integrative Biology (ISMIB) - I enjoy the varied work and nice people that I get to work with.

Do you have an area of expertise / research?    
General and biological Health and Safety.

What has been your most exciting project or career role?
I've had many! From large radiation screens on huge pieces of automation, to pushing through facilities projects including a large new lab building and various relocations big and small.     

Do you have any advice you'd like to share?  
Be aware of the high standards that we should all be working towards and take everyone with you on that journey. Look after yourself. This applies to all areas of life.

Why are you passionate about your subject / career / research / STEMM?    
I like being able to help people—especially on a large scale.
