Clinically Silent

by Ralph Pite

The sleet like under
the microscope
protozoa separating –
one winkles
out its melt.

Ice-bead packaging
to squinny through,
wipers to sweep off, speech
delivers
its report.

Within the fishhead
bony echoes, stays
around the windscreen, body
bouncing on wind-
blasts on its shocks.
