Author, journalist, novelist, radio broadcaster and dramatist Lynne Truss is arguably best known for her championing of correctness and aesthetics in the English language in her popular 2003 book, Eats, Shoots & Leaves. Lynne began her career as a literary journalist, editing the Books section of The Listener, and as a critic, columnist and sportswriter for The Times. In this talk she will be speaking to Dinah, the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Cultural Engagement, about her years as a sportswriter which led to her non-fiction book Get Her Off the Pitch: How Sport Took Over My Life.
