Past research interests

Leon is a past recipient of the Robin Davies DCP award (2018) he was recently invited to talk about his experiences to this years winners and members of the dental community 2024.https://www.odrt.org.uk/award/colgate-robin-davies-dcp-awards/

Leon has presented scientific Poster presentations at both national and international level. His research interest was using the ICCMS caries prevention tool kit with the primary dentition. He has another research interest, child anxiety and the impact of this on sedation services, in which he co-presented a poster at the British society of Paediatric Dentistry.

Present

Leon has a keen interest in Haptic simulation for undergraduate students, in particular for periodontal clinical skills teaching to increase the fidelity of the experience, before the transition to the clinical environment.Haptic simulation

Leon's other keen interest is professionalisation of occupations, he has conducted research into Dental Therapy academics as part of his MSc dissertation.
