Palliative Care Unit

The Palliative Care Unit (PCU) at the University of Liverpool is a multi-professional team that brings together research, educational and clinical expertise with the aim of improving end-of-life care around the globe.

The PCU leverages its network of national and international collaborators to design, develop and deliver novel research and educational programmes that have a direct impact on the care provided to dying people and those close to them.

Our goal is to improve end of life care at every level, driving change at research, policy, and clinical care level through world-leading research, accessible and engaging education, and effective outreach and engagement.

Many people die an undignified death because of unmet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.  The outcomes of our international research and education will enable all people to experience a dignified death.
